What is Fine Art School photography? 

In Fine Art portraits I strive to provide my clients with a custom, boutique experience that truly captures the essence of each child. Large school photography operations typically rely on busy, overpowering backdrops and forced, scripted poses. Instead, I offer a simple, carefree, and child-centered atmosphere that provokes authentic and timeless images. A pensive stare, shy smile, slight pout, grand giggle, or genuine grin: I just want to capture the spirit of each child, as they are, on that day. Unlike commercial photography chains, I only accept a few, select schools in order to provide superior customer service and portraits.

 

Are Your Portraits Expensive?

I offer competitive rates with nothing due up-front. All of my profits are generated from online orders, and I donate 10% of these profits back to each school I photograph.

 

When Do You Offer Fine Art School Photo Shoots?

I coordinate with each school to schedule shoots any time throughout the academic year.

What Services do you offer?

I want to optimize customer choice and convenience to best serve families, teachers, and schools. Therefore, my school photography business is an online operation. Each family will be linked to password-protected ordering galleries. Galleries are organized by teacher, grade, homeroom, or whatever system best accommodates each school.

Each child will receive 2-5 images, delivered in both black & white and color for a total of 4-10 portraits. The gallery size can vary a bit based on each child. Instead of having a pose chosen for them, each family can select the photo(s) they want. I also provide a variety of printing options: Families can choose from collections, boutique products like canvas gallery wraps, digital images for ultimate flexibility, and a-la-carte products. All products are ordered online and delivered to the school or (in the case of digital images) released for direct download.

Each school will receive a detailed PDF to be distributed to families prior to picture day. It explains all preparations for picture day and outlines ordering procedures. I also provide a video demonstrating the online ordering process and will happily handle any questions from families about products and purchases.

As a former teacher, I strive to make this a smooth and enjoyable day for administrators and staff. I provide all equipment and personal for taking photos on picture day. I give each school high-resolution digital files to use for yearbooks, website, school advertising, etc. I also include complimentary staff photographs and print packages. Teachers receive a free class composite as well.

Schools may also choose to allocate a time for sibling photos.  Again, I pride myself on customer service and will happily work with schools to accommodate your specific needs.
