WHAT TO EXPECT

Portraits are an investment you will hold dear for a lifetime.  The older I get the more I realize just how fast “time flies”.  The days between squishy newborns and confident seniors roll by in a relative blink.  That’s why I love quality portraits that truly capture you and your family, just as you are and let you hold on to the fleeting moments of life.  I want you to bring all your personality and quarks. Whether it’s a toddler that doesn’t want to leave your side or teenager you have to bribe to be there— I want to capture this marker on the timeline.  

To help capture “you” I have to get to know you and your family.  This is why I include a pre-session consultation.  This may be a quick chat on the phone or a series of emails &/or texts.  Outfits, locations, the look and feel, how to prepare little ones:  we will plan and discuss it all.  This helps me design the perfect session for you and your family. 

WHAT TO WEAR

As a mom I know the “What to Wear” anxiety is real!!!  Your outfits really can make a difference in your portraits.  That’s why I try to make this process  as easy for my clients as possible.  Your session will include an extensive “What to Wear Guide, “ my personal tips, and access to a personal stylist upon request.

DURING THE SESSION

I generally begin each session with the all-family posed shots and any other “must-haves” we’ve discussed in your consultation.  Then I will work through combinations and each child, working with the youngest kiddos first.  Then it’s time to play and get those more interactive shots.  I truly want everyone to enjoy the session and have a good time. Don’t worry if the kiddos aren’t doing exactly what we have planned.  So often my favorite shots come in the less-scripted moments.

AFTER THE SESSION

PROOF GALLERY: Each session produces many images. I will always have favorites, but those aren’t always my client’s favorites. Therefore, for full family sessions I give families the option to choose their favorite images for final editing. Those opting to choose their favorites will receive a proof gallery of unedited or softly edited images within 2-3 weeks of their session. Due to the nature and length of mini sessions there are fewer images and a proofing gallery may not be available.

PORTRAIT GALLERY: Within 2-3 weeks of your session or favorite proof selection, I will email you the link to your downloadable gallery.  I spend 10-60 minutes hand-editing and artistically enhance each photo, so it takes me awhile complete a full gallery.    

PRINTING: I want you to enjoy and display your images as much as possible. This is why I have always provided a full gallery of digital images, a print release, and recommendations for professional printing.  I will continue to do so. However, as a busy mom I’m also guilty of hoarding a gazillion beautiful images in some cloud and only printing one Christmas card.  So I also offer print services to my clients.  You will be able to order directly from your gallery without the hassle of downloading and uploading to other sites.  I want my clients to love and display their images for years to come and hope this makes it a little bit easier.  

I highly recommend you print your images through a professional printing company to ensure your images look their best.  The big box stores down the street may be cheap and easy, but they DO NOT have the professional quality I recommend and images might turnout discolored.  I will give you a print release and list of reputable printers after delivering your final gallery.
